Options For Long Hair

Get Edgy With Long Hair
I like this edgy new look. The artist who created this look has showcased it in a cut-and-color techniques book for stylists called, “Redken Creates.” Six Redken artists, colorists and stylists, authored the book to give inspiration and to encourage experimentation to salon professionals.
“This new cutting technique called, diamond shreds”
This style is not for you who are curly or wavy haired, nor for the feint of heart. If your long hair is all one length, you may need to look the other way as six to twelve inches of hair hits the floor.
I would love to take my custom makeover clients who are bored with their long, straight hair, into something like this. It could be toned down for those who prefer a more conservative look.
The key is that layers add shape and interest to straight locks. A good cut is the most important issue here, then all that’s needed is the right products to hold the style.
To get this look, the stylist used, Redken Body Shampoo and Conditioner, followed by, Guts 10 Volumizing Spray Foam, for added fullness. Next, blow-dry with a medium round brush creating lift on top by over directing at the roots. Definition was achieved by using, Rough Paste 12, twisting into strands to get a more textured look. It was finished with, Workforce 09 Flexible Volumizing Spray, for shine and hold.
This new cutting technique called, “diamond shreds” can be found for professionals, on Redken.com along with styling and coloring techniques. The name comes from the diamond and triangle partings used in order to create the silhouette you see here. The soft asymmetrical long fringe in front gives a sultry look to the shape.
