How to Flatter Square Face Shapes!

Women with square face shapes think hair styles for their face shape are hard to come by . . . not true! Square face shapes are sculpted looking which more often than not turn heads for such dramatic features!

But, none of these celebrities have a perfectly square face if you were to measure . . . and most likely neither do you.   But they do have defining jaw bones and a symmetry that makes their face shape appear more square than not. Notice that their face shape appears different depending on what angle their picture is taken at; whether they are smiling or not, and how they wear their hair style.

What hair styles are most flattering for a square face shape?  Below are some favorites these celebrities have worn over the years. As a rule of thumb, here are some good hair style features to incorporate into if you fall into the angular face category.

You’ll want to include some of these features:

• Soft waves
• Layers on long hair to frame and soften the face
• Off center parts
• Layering to achieve some height on top
• Side swept bangs
• Wispy bangs
• Asymmetrical hair styles
• Crop hair cuts swept off the face

What should you avoid?

• Straight hair without any bend will sharpen straight lines in the face
• Full straight bangs will shorten the face
• Hair styles that end at the chin will make the face appear more square
• Too much fullness in relation to the height and length will widen the appearance in the face.
• Center parts may cut the face down the middle, making it look more symmetrical
